About Us

Expertise

We diagnose and manage disease and insect issues that occur for turf, trees, shrubs and other landscape plants.  We are continually studying and researching through Penn State, Longwood Gardens and other resources to stay current within our industry.

Peace of Mind

This is more than a business to us–its our passion.  We know how to care for your property and love doing it.  We do it well, so you don’t have to!

Care and Design

In this fast-paced age, everyone needs a special, beautiful place to relax outdoors surrounded by birds, butterflies and wildlife.  We will help you create and maintain a place you will enjoy.
Whether you own a private residence, a business, or an entire community, our goal is to provide and maintain healthy flora for all to enjoy.

Personally Speaking

We love nature–its seems to be in our DNA. Darrel started an arboretum on our estate years ago which includes some nice oak specimens and only recently discovered his name “Darrel” actually means “grove of oak trees” in Welsh. You just can’t get much closer to destiny than that! Darrel loves to work and has a passion for solving plant problems and serving his clients. He also enjoys reading, hiking (he met Elizabeth on an Appalachian Trail hike), local history and cutting firewood.

Elizabeth does landscape design and oversees our office. She loves helping people and is particularly interested in utilizing native plants and restoring local habitats for wildlife. Gardening, tea parties, and working in the woods are other favorite activities.

Going “Greener”

We Mills enjoy the natural environment every day. We have trained with Penn State to become PA Forest Stewards and manage 25 acres of private woodlands at our home in Willow Street. A solar power installation has also been completed at our residence–we are thrilled to be reducing our carbon footprint and to be producers–not just consumers
